A special new playground in Jones Park was dedicated on Thursday night, October 15, 2015. Designed expressly for youngsters aged one to five, the new playground was
spearheaded by Laura Becker and the Embraced organization to be a visual focal point and support for those families who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss. As part of the evening dedication, a candlelight vigil was held in honor of national Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. The Foundation was pleased to award Embraced a matching grant of $10,000 to bring the playground to fruition. Congratulations to Laura Becker and the Embraced group for making it happen and many thanks to Parks and Rec Director Scott Lastusky and a Parks and Rec crew for working with volunteers to install the playground. We have already had lots of happy users!
