The Fort Atkinson Community Foundation has a variety of scholarships opportunities now available to help local undergraduate and graduate students for the 2019-20 schoolyear. Each scholarship has distinct eligibility requirements, so students will need to carefully review each one before applying. Brief descriptions of eleven scholarships are provided below. The Fireside Theatre establishes scholarship fund at Foundation

The Fort Atkinson Community Foundation is very pleased to announce the opening of a new fund, The Fireside Theatre Scholarship Fund, established by a generous gift from Ryan and Kristi Klopcic, owners of The Fireside Theatre in Fort Atkinson. Foundation’s online scholarship site now accepting applications

Fort Scholarships, the online scholarship application website sponsored by the Fort Atkinson Community Foundation, is now open and accepting applications for the 2019 scholarship season.  Local students will find Fort Scholarships to be a very convenient one-stop shop where they can review the eligibility requirements for a whole host of local scholarships and then apply for those for which they qualify. 2018 Karrels AP Computer Science Scholarships Awarded

At the August 16th school board meeting, teacher Dean Johnson and scholarship funder Ed Karrels presented 24 students from Fort Atkinson High School with $1,000 Ed Karrels AP Computer Science Scholarship awards.  All 24 students had met the requirements of the scholarship which consist of taking and passing the yearlong AP Computer Science class and then scoring a score of 3 or higher on the AP Computer Science exam.  Recipients are: Ernest Bos, Logan Bowker, Kate England, Madelynn Evans, Nicole Gjertson, Lillian Gomez, Noah Keating, Riley Koehler, Jesse Kutz, Logan Lehmann, Austin Marquart,...

14 Fort students receive Buell Graduate Scholarships

The Fort Atkinson Community Foundation recently awarded Walter and Louise Buell Graduate Scholarships, totaling $17,500, to 14 Fort Atkinson students. These scholarships are possible thanks to Louise Buell who directed that, upon her death, the residue of her estate be given to the Community Foundation with half of that gift to be used for scholarships. Hundt receives Medical Careers Scholarship

The Fort Atkinson Community Foundation is proud to award a $5,000 Medical Careers Scholarship to Shalane Hundt.  Hundt, a 2011 graduate of Fort Atkinson High School, earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2015 and was immediately accepted into Marquette University’s School of Dentistry. This fall, she will begin her final year in the program.
